featuring Guest Speaker Wink Kopczynski III, CPL, RWA-GN
President Grizzly Land Services
W.H. “Wink” Kopczynski, III, is said to have “oil in his blood” as a result of being raised in the oil and gas industry, surrounded by family members including his father, Wink Jr., and grandfather, Wink Sr., who were petroleum engineers. His childhood was spent on location throughout Oklahoma and Texas, where his grandfather taught him to drive at nine years old, and gave him deep insights and problem-solving skills for full-scale project development. Wink graduated with a B.B.A. in Energy Management and Marketing, with a Minor in Economics, from the University of Oklahoma. Throughout his career, he has managed extensive land acquisitions and developments, overseeing over $1.6 billion in asset sales and $600 million in acquisitions.
In 2016, following a successful stint as the inaugural Land and Business Development Manager at New Gulf Resources, Wink began a consulting career during which he has managed over 150 Landmen and dozens of Land Techs while deploying over $150 million in client capital for projects in Upstream E&P, Non-Operated and Mineral/Royalty investing, and Renewables across the Continental United States. He served as President of the Tulsa Association of Petroleum Landmen in 2017-2018 and was named TAPL’s Landman of the Year in 2022.
Married to Hannah for over a decade, they are very active in the community through participation in their church and multiple non-profit organizations, including Saint Simeon’s Foundation, American Cancer Society, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Tulsa Area United Way. Wink & Hannah have two children, Grace Anne and Wink IV. Wink is known for his "boots on the ground" approach and is equally comfortable on a drilling rig as he is in a courthouse or office.
